Susan Summons Offers Inspiring Speech and Congratulations to Madeline Pumareiga, Miami Dade College’s First Woman President and her Former Student-Athlete

You’ve come a long way! The expression could not be more poignant as one-time basketball student-athlete Madeline Pumareiga is celebrated as the first woman President of Miami Dade College during a Pre Presidential Investiture event for Pumariega at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus.

Hall of Fame award-winning, two-time, retired MDC Endowed Teaching Chair recipient, professor, and coach Summons, couldn’t have been more proud. Pumareiga was one of her Sharks… #22 in fact.

‘ It is my proudest moment to congratulate you and dare you to continue to dream. Dreams do come true! Thanks to Dr. Charlot, Dr. Ferrer, Dr. Malou Harrison, distinguished guest, all the present athletes, Alysia Dyer, Erica Redman, VIP, faculty, coaches, and the MDC Staff and music ensemble for an amazing ceremony,” said Summons.
