Hip Hop Artist Amayah Tapped as Special Musical Guest to Kick off the Play Julia +Roselo in Fort Lauderdale

Grace Arts Florida has announced that 16-year-old South Florida rapper/mc Amayah will be the special musical guest to kick off a cool, diverse, new Florida version of the play Romeo and Juliet called Julia +Roselo. Amayah will open the event as the special guest performer at 7pm sharp.

Grace Arts FL, a South Florida Non-profit Arts Center, premieres this adaption with an uber talented, diverse cast of actors, musicians, dancers, and artists, on Friday, May 10th, 7:00pm-9pm at the Broward County Main Library Theater, 100 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL. And on May 17th and 18th at the historic African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, 6161 Northwest 22nd Avenue, Miami, FL.

From before she could really talk you could find Amayah bopping her head to the likes of The Lox, Biggie and Jay-Z, so it was only destined that she too would one day put her lyrics to the test. She brings an east coast flare reminiscent of Biggie. A mix of Iranian, Puerto Rican and Cuban, she’s a smart storyteller and passionate rapper who has even challenged her teacher to a rap battle.
