Grace Arts Center to Exhibit at Scope Art Fair During Art Basel 2021

Miami Beach, FL.
Grace Arts Center, Inc., (GAC) based in Fort Lauderdale and serving South Florida since 2005, is exhibiting paintings and sculptures in booth G09 at the Scope Art Fair 2021 on Miami Beach opening November 30 through December 5.
Artists posthumously exhibited include Miami painters, Purvis Young and Reva Freedman… both self-taught artists.
Purvis Young was selected as the ‘Director’s Choice Exhibition’ featured Artist for Art Miami 2007, the last and largest exhibit of Mr. Young’s artworks in art fair format before his death in May 2010. Scope 2021 marks just over ten (10) years of working with Young’s artworks and a collection purchased over time while Young painted in the gallery that founded GAC. Young was inducted into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame in 2018; his paintings are part of individual and fine art museum collections worldwide.
Reva Freedman was a self-taught Jewish female artist who retired to Miami from New York with her husband. She was a classically trained musician and began to create thousands of paintings in the ’80–the ’90s including enigmatic stunning portraits and abstract representations from an imagination that challenges audiences who marvel at her larger-than-life images. Freedman’s works were organized by her family after her death in 2011 and featured in folk art magazines, books, various self-taught art exhibits, and in 2021 at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
Artists attending the exhibit are Arkansas-based Oluwatobi (Tobi) Adewumi and Yelena Petroukhina.
