Fort Lauderdale, Florida — October 12, 2023 — Grace Arts Center, an innovative Florida-based arts nonprofit, is proud to announce the successful execution of the inaugural Street Art Regatta (StAR) auction, which took place in 2022. This remarkable event has led to the establishment of StAR Scholarships, benefiting talented students from the Dillard Center For the Arts (DCA) pursuing classical music and other artistic disciplines.

The StAR auction featured an exquisite collection of original painted sails, which captivated art enthusiasts and supporters alike. The result was the provision of scholarships for two exceptional DCA students who are currently furthering their artistic pursuits in Italy during 2023.

Ms. Anielya Wells-Miller, one of the scholarship recipients, was immersed in intensive Italian language and operatic vocal training in the heart of Central Italy. Meanwhile, Mr. Aidan Higgs, the other recipient, is participating in a series of concert piano performances under the guidance of a beloved mentor in Southern Italy. This invaluable opportunity has not only empowered these young artists but has also enabled Aidan’s parents to join him abroad in the spring of 2024 to experience the rich cultural heritage and celebrate his accomplishments.
