Calling All Talented South Florida Youth Artists and Performers! Don’t Miss Your Chance to Sign up for The Big Give Back’s Talent Show and Poster Contest

If you think you have talent as a spoken word performer, musician, or artist, here’s an opportunity to show everyone, “you’ve got game,” and compete for prizes! Sign up today for the Big Give Back/Alert Today Florida Talent Show or the Bike or Walk Back to School Safely Poster Contest.
“These are two really Big contests,” said Big Sounds Better Manager Mel Vanderpool. We are encouraging young visual and performing artists in our community to showcase their talents in a fun way that also highlights some valuable messages about safety.”
Children under 18 are eligible to sign up and participate in the talent contest. All participants must still be enrolled in PreK-12th grade.
The Categories are : Individual, Group (no more than 5 people), Spoken Word/Poetry, Visual Art (painting, sculpture, drawing, etc.)
Preliminaries will be held prior to the event (Date TBA) and the Top 3 acts from each category will perform live at the Community Event on August 11th, for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each category and overall Grand Prize. Click here to submit for the talent contest.
If you’ve got a budding visual artist in your family then encourage them to sign up for the Poster Contest. This year’s them is “I’m a Safety Hero!.”
“ The message is Everyone can become safer and healthier by walking and bicycling safely,” said Vanderpool. With this contest we are challenging our youth to show us how you are a Safety Hero!”
- 3 Categories (K-2nd Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, and 6th-8th grade)
- Participants must create their poster using crayon, makers, pencils, paint, etc. No digital images will be accepted.
- Students should create the posters with minimal parent assistance (parents, we know you want to help but please limit)
