When Paris Richardson stepped onto the stage at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida, she wasn’t just representing Gainesville — she was representing legacy, leadership, and a new vision for health equity. By the end of the night, she was wearing the Miss Florida crown and rewriting pageant history.

For the first time in over 70 years, a representative from Gainesville claimed the coveted title of Miss Florida. Richardson’s win wasn’t just a moment — it was a movement.

From Gainesville to Greatness

As the reigning Miss Gainesville 2025, Richardson brought poise, power, and purpose to the competition, standing out among 37 contestants from across the state. Her win marked only the second time in history that Gainesville has produced a Miss Florida, and she did it with a presence that left judges and spectators in awe.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity to be the next Miss Florida,” said Richardson. “And I am especially thankful to the Miss Gainesville and Miss Ocala organizations for equipping me with the confidence and preparation to take the stage with purpose.”

A graduate of the University of Florida with a master’s in healthcare administration, Richardson exemplifies what it means to blend beauty with brains and bold impact. Her journey includes a bachelor’s degree in public health, membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., participation on the UF Cheerleading squad, and induction into Florida Blue Key, the university’s oldest and most prestigious leadership honorary.

She also conducted research for a National Institutes of Health grant-funded study, examining trust and wellness among African American women in reproductive healthcare settings — a theme that now fuels her statewide advocacy platform.

The Crown of Health

Richardson’s community service initiative, C.R.O.W.N. of Health (COH), is no pageant prop. It’s a mission born in high school and built on bridging the gap between doctors and underserved patients. Her goal: to increase trust and communication in medical settings, especially among marginalized communities.

“C.R.O.W.N. of Health is about dignity, access, and respect,” Richardson has said. “It’s time for every patient to feel seen and heard.”

As Miss Florida, she will spend the next year traveling the state to promote this initiative as part of the Miss America Opportunity — a platform that empowers young women through scholarships, service, and storytelling.

Applause from the Miss Florida Family

The impact of Richardson’s performance and poise was felt deeply by the Miss Florida community.

“Paris Richardson represents the highest ideals of the Miss Florida Scholarship Program — intelligence, passion, and purpose-driven leadership,” said Norma Storms, a member of the Miss Florida Board of Directors. “The judges recognized her excellence, and we could not be more proud of their decision.”

Carol Storms, a longtime supporter of the pageant, described the night as unforgettable. “Watching Paris light up that stage was something special. Her grace, her strength, her heart — it was all there. She’s the kind of young woman who makes you believe in the future.”

A Queen With Vision

More than a crown, Paris Richardson now wears a responsibility to lead, educate, and inspire. She will represent Florida at the Miss America Competition, where her message — and her movement — will take center stage once again.

She’s not just walking in heels. She’s walking in purpose.
