2024 Street Art Regatta Showcases Sailing and Artistry in Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale, FL — May 1 2024— The 2024 Street Art Regatta (StAR) recently concluded its successful event, drawing crowds to the picturesque Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale. Notable attendees, including Mayor Dean J. Trantailis, dropped by to watch the action.
Young sailors, some as young as their teens, demonstrated their skills on the waterway, accompanied by the melodic tunes of Christopher Cross’s “Sailing.” The event featured over 50 painted sails, showcasing the artistic talents of both local and national artists.
Among the featured artists were Lulu Sanchez, Nice and Easy, Brian Butler, and Ivan Roque, whose unique designs added a vibrant splash of color to the regatta.
“The Street Art Regatta is a celebration of sailing and artistic expression, reflecting the vibrant spirit of our community,” said Clare Vickery of Grace Arts FL, the producer of the event.
Organized in collaboration with Coral Ridge Yacht Club Sailing & Watersports Foundation and Quantum Sailing International, the event was a testament to teamwork and community involvement.
